I picked this book up at a bargain price due to the print date/ success of the book. Let me tell you it was worth every penny and then some. The author has a good grasp on MS Data Access Technologies. The book is lengthy, but full of useful information. I even learned some things about the .NET architecture I didn't know by reading this book. Coverage is pretty in depth into both ADO and ADO.NET (OLE, ODBC, SQL its all covered). Example code is great to written in VB and VB.NET so C# programmers will have to extrapolate. Great book at an even better price!

This is a very odd book in that eight of the chapters in this book cover ADO and nine cover .NET and ADO.NET (not including some extra chapters covering specific DB providers). You likely don't have much need for the ADO chapters, but the ADO.NET coverage is very good. The author gets to the point and has excellent step-by-step examples for both Windows Forms and ASP.NET. The later chapters give the best coverage I've seen for working with XML, reading XML from databases, synchronizing XML with datasets, etc. After reading it I still often refer back to this book as a reference.

This must be a rehash of an ADO book because it is full of ADO chapters and examples. Its like writing a book about commercial travel where most examples are about propeller planes - nothing wrong but most people today use jets and today almost all new Windows programming is about .net access methods.So save your money and go somewhere else. Its a shame the author did not rewrite the entire book - it could have been the classic ADO.NET book.

I have traded penny stocks before. I downloaded the kindle version of this book to see if there was anything that could help me get back into it. I thought it would discuss the process from start to finish for anyone wanting to learn about how to do it or anyone wanting to get back into it, like me. It has been a while so a refresher never hurts. One thing I noticed that this book did not discuss is risk management, which is a basic idea, but may be a foreign language to a new person who has never traded anything before. I was always told that when you first begin trading, start with penny stocks to avoid a big loss risk. I was also told that you should never invest all your money in one place. No where in this book does it go into this, which I truly believe that anyone new to stocks needs to know. There were just some lacking things in this book. I am not saying it is a horrible book by no means, but to say this is a quick start guide for beginners, I just don't think it shares enough to really give the beginner the knowledge they should really know before beginning.

I was interested in learning about more about penny stocks as my son began to question me about it, so I downloaded the e book version of this book. I thought this book provided basic definitions and information about stocks, but was not a complete guide. The author explained some of the stock vocabulary very well and provided some useful tips. In addition, the book was easy to follow, unlike many other guides out there. It starts off simple and gradually builds into more complex topics. Another bonus is that it is a quick read. It is not terribly long or boring. I believe this guide will help you familiarize yourself with some stock terms, but I would use this along with other books/resources to further expand your education on stocks and begin investing. Not bad for a quick start guide and overall I am glad I read the book. It provided good, basic information on the stock market and penny stocks. If you are new to the world of investing, I would definitely recommend this book.Note: I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my unbiased review. My review would not change if I paid full price.

Being a recent graduate and working for a non-profit I need help with money on a pretty regular basis. I had read about penny stocks before but was always warned as quickly as you can make money you can also lose it just as quickly, which always made me hesitant to start investing. This book is a helpful starter guide on how to choose and manage penny stocks. It's not to expensive to get started and they are very realistic about investing. Nice guide to start investing

This book is really about "Penny Stock Investing" not Trading. Trading is short term horizon and Investing is long term horizon. When you look at the Fundamental Analysis (FA) process the author mentions throughout this book it is clear that Investing is what the author should have titled this book even though there is one chapter on Technical Analysis, everything else is FA.Like others have mentioned the author doesn't fully cover important topics like risk management in terms of position sizing and stop losses which a penny stock investor or trader would need to certainly know about. I guess the reason why he didn't was because he expects people to mostly buy and hold the penny stock long term according to the process he describes. Luckily, I only spent a minimal amount to figure this out.

I am very interested in learning more about stock so this book caught my eye. I don't know much about investing so I will say this book provided some good information but didn't make me feel like I learned enough to be a pro. I like that the book was simple enough that I could read and understand it. I think it provided enough information to make good decisions and also learn avoid "obvious" bad stock. It didn't provide all the answers but did advise doing research before investing. Again this is the view of someone knows nothing about the stock market. I received this book at a discounted price for my honest opinion.

I think that the book is a good learning tool for basics for someone with no experience. I found some of the terms to be confusing and there were really no explanation of some of the terms. While I think it's a great starter book, it certainly does not make me an expert. I will need to do more reading and research before I start investing.

I loved the humor in the main characters when Lacy meets bumbling PI Mike while investigating the story for her local paper. Twists and turns in the plot kept me reading as the case turned into a puzzle. Meanwhile, Lacy and Mike find themselves attracted to each other, but both have issues they need to deal with before their relationship can progress.The culmination of the tension, in both the puzzling murder case and the young couple comes to an interesting head when Lacy finds what she has needed all along is a relationship with God and discovers information that helps solve the case at the same time.What I liked best about this story? The humor.

This is a sweet love story of second chances.When you have lost a love so special it is hard to ever let someone in your heart, or when you have been disappointed or hurt by someone you loved it is also hard to let go and love again.This is that story...I liked it a lot.

I really enjoyed this book. I started it before bed Friday night and got up early Sat. morning to finish it! I loved that it was a mystery and a romance. I laughed out loud several times when the main characters where teasing each other! One reviewer said that there wasn't enough tension and release in this book, but I don't agree, I often feel that books have an unbelievable amount tension and release like they are just trying to fill a certain amount of pages. When reading christian romance novels I will often find myself saying "Really? How many times can a couple misunderstand each other? Get on with it!" Not in this book, it was just right! As far as the mystery goes I had a few guesses on who the murderer was and one of my guesses was partly right, but I still was surprised by many of the details involved and enjoyed the journey of finding those out. I usually guess right in high budget movies too though so it is not a criticism that I had a hunch. I would love to see more from this author.

First, I love the title and how it comes about. Second, I do not understand why Amazon is not equippred for half star ratings as I would have given this 4-1/2 stars. I love mystery and romance combined and they were two very likeable main characters. I figured out who committed the murder early into the book, but that's okay. I wanted to see how it came about in the first place. It is a story about second chances and being able to move forward after much adversity, which is not an easy thing to do. I received this as a free purchasee from FB-Inspired Reads (I think that's what it's called). I do hope the author writes another book as I would be willing to purchase it.For a first time effort (assuming she doesn't write under other names), this was an excellent effort. You won't be wasting your time if you read it.

s.J. MacIver is an author I will read again and again. I thoroughly enjoyed her clean romance novel with a suspenseful twist. I enjoyed this book so much that I could not let the story end, so I voted book #2.RHONDA

I liked the story, I like that they weren’t jumping into bed with one another. I like that God was a prominent part of the story.

This was a great read with a few interesting twists. I liked the characters very much. Carol was a little too far out to believe.

I thought personally that Cinnamon Girl had an amazing build up and story line. The book would always leave me wondering what would happen next; it would make me want to read more! The story line, I thought, was very interesting. It had Lacy's personal life worked in with her work life and showed that it all had an impact on each other. Without her work she wouldn't have met Mike. Without meeting Mike she would have never found God again and would have never loved again. She was able to relate to a kid that was a suspect to a murder case. She helped him get out of his crisis and cleared up what happened in the murder case. The one thing that I was very confused about was the "side" story with the characters Martin and Sara Jones. It was not very clear on who they were and how they had a relationship with the story and the main characters. I also liked how the title was intertwined with the book. The way Mike called Lacy his Cinnamon Girl because of her eyes. He asked her out by calling her this, it was a different way of referring to Lacy.I would recommend this book to people who want an easy read, cute loving book, that leaves you suspicious.
