I chose this rating because of the interesting subject matter;the author's ability to weave together such a huge range of persons, times, and places; and the shear difficulty of the task.These are also the things I liked about the book. Mostly I liked the more familiar writing style that felt like sitting in the room with the author. What I didn't like was the difficulty in following the "family histories" and geneologies .I do have the authors two books Following Philo I and II, but didn't finish. As the author suggests, they are difficult to follow. Having read this third book in the subject, I feel like I can finish the other two.The previous books and this more user friendly version present some incredible ideas that explores possible solutions to many mysteries inherent in the Hebrew and Christian scriptures. For people interested in the subject matter, th is a great book.

The best mortar and pestle I've ever used! It's tiny which is perfect for small things like peppercorns, mustard seed, even nutmeg or pills. It's very high quality and includes a tiny divot to keep the pestle from rolling around.The best feature (besides the Jamie and Claire booklet that came with it) is the rough pestle end that helps it grip the bowl for better mashing.Overall this is a well made, well thought out design. I never expected any TV themed object to be this great. Highly recommend.

I'm very happy to add the mini mortar & pestle to my Outlander collection... They are good quality and a great choice as a symbol of the series.The "32 page book of quotes and images from the TV show" leaves a few things lacking... in fact getting a few of the quotes from the Starz TV show wrong. The images are well chosen and sure to be enjoyed by fans. I'm happy to have the 'wee book' but was disappointed in the lack of detail in the quotes when the Outlander TV show is so well done and true fans, like myself, should be fully aware of these inconsistencies.When there are 13 quotes "from the TV show" included... they should be correct. These were not:Pg. 7, JAMIE: "You're a kind woman. With a good touch. And your husband is a lucky man." ... There is no 'And' before "Your husband is a lucky man." (Episode: Castle Leoch)Pg. 10, DOUGAL: "I think it would be wise to take a healer along, especially one that does well under strain and there's a lot of that on the road." ... The quote is to "have a healer along", not "take". I ordered two--one as a gift for my daughter and one for me. I opened mine and found that the book was defective so I opened the other and it was fine. Amazon replaced it shipped in a poorly packaged envelope so it arrived crushed and the mortar was chipped, but the book was perfect so I ended up with two good sets. It's an adorable reminder of the show on a shelf in my kitchen. The mini mortar and pestle should be functional for very small quantities, but I doubt I'll ever use mine since I have a standard size one I use for herbs.

It's cute, smaller than I had anticipated. The book has photo stills and quotes from the show. The mortar and pestle are about two inches each. My pestle came with a dent at the bottom of it, which is why I've given it a lower rating.

I received this for Christmas because I'm an Outlander fan, and I've collected interesting small mortar and pestle sets for years. The little book that comes with it is a nice little bonus. It's very sturdy and well made, if you wanted to use to grind small amounts of herbs you certainly could (I don't because I already have a small one for that).

The Mini Mortar set is tiny. Yet it works great! I use it to smash up dry herbs so it doesn't need to be big. Love it.

This was smaller than I thought, but I am very happy with it. I have it on a shelf in the kitchen. Love the show and as I too am a healer I had to have it.

Overall great book to give most aspiring and seasoned gentleman. With that being said, it is a great place to start, however, I find that some of these responses are fair and by no means great. In my opinion, there are much better ways for a gentleman to deal with these situations. For example, there is a page that brings up a situation where you have a date at an elegant restaurant and she proceeds to continually sample from your plate. The line basically directly tells her what you’re going to do, whereas you should just do it and explain it only after it’s been done to avoid the inevitable offense many ladies would incur from the abrupt response. As I stated, this is still an excellent place to start and a great reminder for others. Still earns 5 stars from me which says a lot, do yourself a favor and give this book a read.

John Bridges' "Gentleman" guides to behavior and etiquette are very useful to those of us who were not steeped in this culture as part of our upbringing yet have a need to understand and interact with it.

This is where all the build up from the previous volumes (or omnibuses if you're like me) comes into one grand finale. If you have a favorite Straw Hat, they each get their chance to shine going up with the Baroque Work members. Each fight is memorial in their own way. Of course, Luffy's fight with Crocodile is awesome! It does help that Crocodile is still one of my favorite One Piece villains.The ending of the acr where the Straw Hat crew say their good bye's to Vivi and Alabasta is one of the most iconic moments I remember in the anime. Seeing the chapter that was the original iconic scene was great to read.
